Between my drive and the neighbours drive is a lamppost, so that small bit is a raised pavement. It is not enough to fit a car, but some folks decide it is... which makes reversing into the drive/setting off in traffic more difficult as the vehicle is across some of my driveweay.

So thinking of getting something small and parking it there. Currently ideas are a Smart car as could use for occasional driving, or a scooter but would need to get a CBT and how would I secure it from getting nicked? maybe fun in summer though.

Any thoughts & suggestions welcome? Criteria
1) Passing MOT yearly without an issue despite rarely being used.
2) Small as in tiny!
3) Lowest cost to run as possible.

Altenatively is it possible to get the council to lower that area? or double yellow it etc.

You need something that seats 4, is rear engined, turbocharged and RWD.

No not a 911. A super narrow Mitsubishi i-Car with folding wing mirrors as standard.biggrin

I've seen 55mpg from mine on a mix of rural and urban driving.

How to stop a scooter getting nicked? Use a cover, ground anchor and buy something like a maxi scooter or honda cub that the local scrotes won't be interested in.

I think the Daewoo Matiz will be the smallest thing you'll find this side of an original mini.

Previous gen C1/107/Aygo 45mpg short runs, 55 on a run used to average out around 50mpg smile
One of the cheapest (to buy and run), simplest, smallest, modern cars I can think of.
Ideal to leave for weeks on end and generally abuse.

Yes!

For anyone that has driven one, these are amazing and so under the radar.

I can only go on the trip computers on the cars if I am honest,But working for a main citroen dealership And driving a few every day,A good 85% are reading between 44-48 With around 10% reading over that(best I have seen so far is 58mpg) and 5% total town cars always seem to read around the 40-42ish mark( worst I have seen is a 38mpg)

Saying that not a lot seems to go wrong with them and I would be happy to drive one of the new ones.

What you need is a battered Transit with scaffold pole bullbars. He who blocks your drive will only do so once wink

If you're masochistic and have thick skin, what about a microcar as pictured above? Bit comfier than a scooter should you ever need a spare vehicle, dirt cheap, and so undesirable nobody will even consider nicking it!

Plant a tree. I think they come in white rock type sizes or bloody huge boulder usually with graffiti as standard. Failing that plant a acuall tree, They come in nice looking wooden already made sizes. Or In ph mode here you understand.... Plant a claymore and the next person shall not park there again. Repeat until no problem.( standard ph reply number 5 I think?)

I'd be tempted to paint my own double yellow lines. If it's only a small gap as you say then some sturdy yellow paint and a roll of masking tape should do the job.

How about a small trailer. You would have to immobilise it somehow.
