The £500 shed hunt

[CB125T]

Hi

Got £500 to spend, what would people generally look for in this budget? Need something reliable and under 2.2 litre (insurance) and annoyingly preferably fwd (insurance again) but economy isnt an issue at all but would be nice to be good on fuel.

Thanks

Get on gumtree. Restrict the search to 5/10 miles. Pick the best condition and history car for the price. At this budget you can do no more.

Something Japanese and petrol would be the nirvana at this money. Accord, civic, Corolla, primera.

Try auto trader, I was amazed at how many cheap cars are on there these days?!

I've bought loads of cars for around £500 and (so far) have never had any real issues with any of them what kinda of size are you after?

IMHO it's impossible to get more smiles for £500 than a fiat Seicento sporting. £500 will get you a nice one too, yes they're small and yes they're a bit silly but they are so cheap to run its criminal!

That said, I once bought a taxed, MOT'd mk1 Mx5 for £500... Try to find one now?!

Picked up a saxo 1.6vtr for not much more than that, cost me £600 8 months ago, bought for the mrs,02 reg really good condition had 90000 miles on the clock, and been a really good car for what it cost.parts are peanuts too.

citroen c5, boring but extremely comfy and mpg is decent.

Am pretty pleased with my £700 S60. Lots of optional extras ticked (the original owner must have been drunk when he ordered the car) and a 2.4 turbo. Bodywork isn't perfect but it suits my work and lifestyle.
