Ever since I sat in one at a motor show back in 2002 I've always wanted one.
I'm aware they are nearly 15 years old now but I still see them as a decent looking car in the right trim (Aero)

I'm a big butt kind of guy:

What are people thoughts??

They dont drive too well, cavalier underpinnings and a flexi body see to that.

That said Aeros are quick in a straight line and have a certain waft factor. I think theyre great and dirt cheap for what they are.

I think they are quite cool and have aged pretty well. Having said that, I'm the least cool person on the planet so I'm probably a bad judge wink

Helped my dad shop for one last year, ended up with an 05 Aero. Excellent value for money, and nice on the motorway.

Gotta be a bargain whatever condition, Shirley?

You look like less of a bellend in a saab than any other 4 seater saloon derived ragtop

I think the 900 turbo is the only cool Saab.

Are these not the ones with the bulkhead problems that can cause the passenger compartment to completely crumble in a crash?

They're cool in a more sophisticated way already...and yes, they're one of the few convertibles that blokes can drive without looking stupid/gay/hairdresser.
You need to fit a brace to stop the scuttle shake though.

2002 would be one of the last of those NG900/9-3 convertibles, launched in '94. The 9-3ss convertible was out in 2004, with GM engines instead of the proper Saab ones.

Decent enough motors, but not a patch on the c900 before it. Far, far cheaper than a good c900 'vert now, though...

Probably about the cheapest bit of really quite quick wind-in-hair fun you're going to get - fairly easy to get silly power out of the 2.3T, but it's not going to be the most civilised way to use it. RHD, they have big problems with bulkhead cracking, as do the hatches.

I have been considering one of these or a C70 as a summer barge, the equivalent Volvo seems to be a few quid more.

A 4 door 900 saloon in cameo beige.

The dealer I worked at had one as a demo in 1981.

I had one around 2003 ish. Nice quirky cars. Very flexible and shakey though. Poor fuel economy. Maybe 23 or so. Saw a miracle 27 mpg driving like a nun. Hoods great. Nice and snug.

Mercedes CLK, milf magnet.

To be fair I looked at a 9-3 aero but dismissed it due to lack of rear leg room even though the kids would only be in the back now and again.

I've been told I look gay in mine. And it's black, about as manly as you can get.
