I've been given use of a car from someone on another forum whilst he's out of the country but the problem is since he's the registered owner the insurers won't let me take out a policy (he cancelled his before he left the country so can't just put me as a named driver) as it isn't my car. Have to admit I didn't even think it would be a problem until I started getting quotes because I'm old enough to insure pretty much anything for very little so I don't understand why a name on a piece of paper (which doesn't even mean your the legal owner of that car) is causing so many problems. Only place I've found so far is Admiral but they won't mirror my NCD that I'm keeping on my main car so it's expensive.

Does anyone have experience of this? It would qualify for classic insurance but they're saying the same thing

I know nothing about these, but tripped over their site the other day.
