Here's one for you team: M6 southbound this afternoon, saw a car steaming up behind me with its main beams flashing alternately. Leapt out of the way like a scared mouse, then was passed by a chap in a grey Golf GTI...

So... questions, given I fancy it wasn't Josh from Casualty... Is that legal? Is it easy?!

I was properly impressed..!

;-)

It's a new optional extra on all German made cars to help move us lesser plebs in non German cars out of the way. We must know our place in the hierarchy.

Could have been a fast response vehicle, I used to see a mk1 Leon Cupra parked up near me a few years ago, they carry a paramedic on board to administer first aid before ambulances turn up.

The Leon had all the lights etc, it did have some high vis stickers on the sides, but the car was bright yellow, so didn't really need them!

It may have been moving an organ or blood for an emergency operation between hospitals.

As I have stated before this procedure should only ever be carried out in A Rover SD1 driven at great speed by a top driver, not some sh!t GTI probably a diseasel as well.

Ambulance GTI?

Not quite, but had to use one of my 205s as a response vehicle when my Honda was getting work done. Green light on roof rather than buggering around with the wiring to put full beam flashers in. Interesting bit was getting insurance that day!

The Astra GTE 16v thread made me remember that there used to be quite a few stickered up Paramedic Fast Response GTE 16vs when they were current cars
