Decent informative video and Chris seems to like it.

He's particularly positive about the new engine (even referring to it as better then the 6.2). It certainly sounds decent and the car appears miles ahead of the M3 aurally. After a very disappointing (and therefore short) ownership period in a new M3, I've been eagerly waiting to see how good this car is - if this video is anything to go by, anybody who liked the old model probably isn't going to be disappointed.

Makes a change for him to actually drive a car before giving it a review.

He said the sound is as good if not better than the old 6.2 but it doesn't seem like it from that video. That 6.2 was one of the truly great engines I reckon, I'm determined to own one at some stage.

beer I'm gald I'm not the only one who didn't gel with the new M3, looking forward to the new C63. I have to say it's not as good looking the M3 but the C63's interior looks like it's in a different league engine noise(I had a Kleeman system on mine) doesn't sound as deep but it's still a good note

Really enjoyed that, especially the geeking out over the engine, exhaust and diff.

I really like the fact that the C63 is so understated too.

Can't out a finger on why but that didn't seem like a normal CH video. I think he got the point about the seat being too high across quite clearly wink

The old C63 looked really thuggish, this one doesn't have the same visual impact. Too much chrome :/

Re the sound, I just sounds a bit flat compared to the old engine. That has a real bark at high RPMs that this lacks. Still better than the M3 though.

Jury's out for me on the looks. Mercedes seem to love putting really small wheels on their cars, that and not even a hint of wheel arches makes it look a bit narrow.

I agree, it just seemed a bit different in some way.

A couple options ticked on the S version and you'll be over £70k. Think I'd struggle to pay that when you could have a brand new RS6 with options for the same money.

After watching the video it's Merc all the way.

I know Chris said the auto suits the car, but no DCT in this day and age with the current competition? Slightly disappointing IMO.

He said the gear changes were "as near as damn it" the same - why does it have to be DCT if the result is (near enough) identical?

These cars just leave me cold tbh. Sure they are fast, well, everythings "fast" these days, and if you wait another 10 mins, a new model will be along next......

(and it looks like a Toyota imo, horrible)

Mercedes won this round in my eyes. I like the fact that the C63 isn't too shouty and looks relatively unassuming compared to the M3. To me that's the whole point of these cars, if I wanted attention I might as well buy something mid-engined.

Having driven the M3 twice I don't doubt that the Mercedes has a more enjoyable engine.

Looking forward to having a drive in one of these, certainly more appeal than the M3 (and you can get an estate) and more up to date than the RS4. If only they could do something about all that chrome.

There's both black and carbon exterior styling packs in the options list.

It looks little too conservative for an AMG to me, this is the hooligan C63 after all.

Everything else looks perfect.

Red S Estate for me please.
