Snowy road, medium incline, lady in a 06 Zafira stuck and not going anywhere.
Me in a 4WD, on winter tyres, happened to have a tow rope in the boot, so pulled in front and offered to help.
....but couldn't find anywhere for the tow eye.

The situation is in the past now, but it still annoys me that I couldn't find it. Anyone know?

I believe you pull the plastic above one of the foglights off and it screws in there.

Thanks chaps. Good knowledge.

I take it it requires complete removal of this cover...
(the bit immediately above the grilles where the fog lamp would be on a higher-spec model)

Hope this helps.

page 172 in the manual:
http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/content/dam/Vauxhall/Eur...
(2007 manual, but looks the same)

the whole strip moves right, and then off...

basic rule with modern cars is:
- towing eye in tool kit / boot / spare tyre
- cover behind a removable panel - generally has a little slit into which coin / key can be inserted
- towing eyes are turned anti-clockwise to tighten (non-intuitive)

Thanks for info. That's really helpful

I did suspect it was behind some panel or other, but I didn't want to go blindly tugging off bits of trim as I wasn't sure.

pulling off trim is half the fun smile
I have always said - 'can I try this' i.e. get their permission - they are usually so happy to be helped that they will let you do virtually anything!
