Hello All.

I've seen a car which I like but it is based in the Isle of Man.

Are there any implications of buying from there?

The car is a UK vehicle which has been exported to Isle of Man, its currently on Isle of Man plates.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

99% sure you don't need an MOT on the IOM so I guess there's a potential risk of it failing once you register it in the UK?

Shouldn't be a problem.

Bring it back, advise the DVLA and it will probably go back on its old plate or an age related one.

Get an MOT if it needs one.

Thanks for that, do you think it would affect the resale value?

Cheers.

When i bought my car from a main dealer in the UK it was on IOM plates, they claimed i could just drive it on the UK roads indefinitely no problems.

They were obviously wrong, made them sort out all the DVLA stuff.
