I'm looking to sell a snotter (£500).
Runs well and has MOT.
I have it up on gumtree and a few other free ad sites, having never sold a car on eBay before is it worth it ?

Gumtree is your better bet.

If you want to try ebay, best bet is probably as a classified ad. Run it as an auction and there's a good chance you will be messed about.

If you do run it as an auction make sure you set buyer requirements. You set minimum feedback and UK buyers etc.

Facebook local car pages seem a good way, for example we have a "highland cars under £1000" and it's incredibley busy.

PH used to run a section called PistonSheds. I'm not sure what happened to that (probably not commercial enough, sadly), but it was a pretty active portion of the site with plenty of snotters being traded.

Out of curiosity, what car is it?

Clean it, stick another £150 on the price and put it on Autotrader. Far less scum/idiots (not to say there's none) than gumtree or eBay.

Maybe thought outdated, but perhaps on a card in a local shop window/supermarket ad board. Purchased two of my last cheap cars from these.
