Can anybody tell me whether a split UJ gaiter on the steering column is an MOT fail? Steering feels fine and will get round to replacing it but life has got in the way recently. MOT tomorrow, wanted to drive it at the weekend frown

I have a suspicion that they weren't fitted as standard on the car in question (TVR S2) so I don't know if that would affect it. Is it one of those funny things where it would fail if it is present and split, but not fail if I cut it off!?

Not 100%, but I'd imagine if it's obviously split it'd be a fail item. If it wasn't a standard item I'd cut it off ready for the MOT and replace when you have a replacement.

Seems sound - but don't want to cut it off unless absolutely necessary.

Any MOT testers in today?
