That's a steal. I have a lot of time for basic, throw-your-stuff-in-and-go motors, and this is the price of a used hatch, with new car reliability. OK, so it has keep-fit windows and no aircon, but I haven't noticed either in the last few weeks. In fact I'm not sure I've seen the thing during the hours of daylight recently.
Re rusting, that was the earliest models out of one factory, now sorted under warranty and fixed at source for current production.

I heard reports of them rusting horrendously after only a couple years...
I have a thing for the Dacia Duster...My brother has a 1.2 one of these (one spec level up with bluetooth stereo and coloured bodywork) It's great for what it is: Inexpensive transport.
It's been reliable, looks pretty good in black to my eyes and does everything you need it to. Dives as you'd expect it to. Forwards, backwards and goes round bends.

I had a brand new one as a hire car on a business trip to Ireland recently.
It was awful to sit in and awful to drive! Worst car I've driven in a long time. (and Mrs Rtig has a meriva B!)
It crashed and banged down the road, corners were an interesting experience as it wallowed a lot and there is next to no feedback through the steering wheel. The interior just felt very cheap and nasty, only redeeming feature was Bluetooth audio (not that the speakers were any good to actually listen to anything).
Despite being cheap it doesn't look half bad from the outside at a distance and the fuel gauge didn't move at all so I didn't have to find a petrol station to fill it up.

My FIL changed his Modus this week and we looked (briefly) at a Dacia Sandero Stepway, over a 9 month old Nissan Note 1.2 DiG Acenta Premium. The Nissan has Nav, cruise, front fogs, leather rimmed steering, climate, alloys, decent seats, arm rests, decent quality plastics, modern 1.2 Turbo petrol engine, and drove great.
The same priced, but obviously brand new Stepway was in poverty spec white, wheel trims and a big slab of cheap hard plastic as a dashboard with an aftermarket stereo slotted into the dash.
Would find it hard to walk past a nearly new mainstream brand car to buy a new Dacia, personally.
Dacias are reskinned old model Renaults badly built in Romania.
They perform very badly at NCP: http://www.euroncap.com/en/results/dacia/sandero/8...
Do you really want to put your family in one?
