Looking at purchasing either S1 or Abarth 595 for just a bit of fun , I know there could be 10k or more difference between them .
I love the look of the Abarth in podium blue ,but the inside looks very dated with the old radio CD player .
On the other hand the S1 doesn't look great unless you spec the Quattro pack ,but there aren't many about .
There is a yellow one on here but it's 33k as its got all the options or 23,5k for a 3k 2015 model .
There seems to be quite a few yellow cars for sale just basically standard .
Do you think it's a bad colour and what colour would you go for
Thanks

Everyone should own a yellow car at least once in their life. Go for it!

Abarth for me. Rarer, will hold value well as will the S1 and would probably be more of a hoot. Makes a better noise too. Careful with the colour though.. easy to make them look less than masculine!

Dog box and mech lsd in the abarth make it special.

Just swapped our A1 for a Mini Cooper S because the Audi, whilst good was such a dull (if quick) car and typically VAG manner.

So, of the two I'd say go for the Abarth. It'll put a smile on your face that you'll never get from an Audi.

A chip takes it to 330bhp instantly. With AWD that is quite a leap over the FWD fiat. Throw more money at it and you have 400bhp and the means to use it properly. As much as I love small Italian cars (I have one) there is no comparing the two.

I nearly bought an ex Audi-UK S1. It was up for £23,500 and on 8k. Had the bigger wheels, bright yellow paint, bose etc.

I have to say, it does walk all over the 595 in many many ways. Price however, is not one of them! But it feels exactly as well built as you'd imagine, and the 4wd makes it feel like an absolute rocket. I found it drives a lot better than most fast Audi's too!

Jeepers - drive both. That might make the decision process a bit easier yeah?

A 400bhp S1? I'd be intrigued to see that A) put power down efficiently and B) not destroy the gearbox

Broadspeed do the S1 3dr for £22.5k. Granted that's with no options though.

Abarth is £18k or so. In Trofeo grey, yellow calipers, Sabelt buckets, matt black alloys and upgraded hifi it's still "only" £20.5k.

I'd still be tempted with a boggo S1 and a remap though.

If you enjoy driving get the abarth
If you want nice dash materials and good residuals buy the Audi

Got a couple of test drives booked for this weekend
The dealer of yellow s1 would only discount 7% which I thought was poor given that it's in stock .

Have you driven both to come to that conclusion?

The reviews of the S1 are very good indeed. My original S3 was pretty decent too (not a million miles away from the S1 in terms of size and weight).
