Doesn't look very sturdy at all.

A thief would probably see it as a challenge to snap it off and drive away.

DVLA use big yellow ones which cover the wheel nuts.

I used to have a similar one, would put it on in car parks - back the the mid 90s when cars were being nicked left right and centre.

New corsa that parks near us had one of them on it a few months back. I wondered if the car was on finance and they had missed a few payments.

IS the E90 one of the BMWs easily stolen using an OBDII hack?

That may explain the clamp.

That looks like a Classic BM to me, so it'll be highly sought after and the owner obviously wants to look after it. If it was mine I'd probably use one if those metal locks that covers the steering wheel as well.

Actually, if it was a debt collector one, there would be nothing to stop you removing a wheel and letting him know where he could collect the clamp from thereby negating the intention to permanently deprive.

Nope, but if they found you in a random carpark, I think they are going to be back for it, probably with a tow truck hehe

If that was my car, I would just put the spare wheel on and have the clamp cut off at my leisure. It might not even be secure - easy to pry it off?

Yep. if they have identified it as your property and verified that (they can get it wrong) then because they are seizing it, it is no longer your property anyway as they are taking it away to pay for your debts which by this point you would have been ordered to pay by a court and would have failed to pay.

So, the short answer is.... yes. If it is being seized it isn't yours anymore.

Good point. I didn't think of that.

OK then, if it was my car, I'd still do that because my car has a spare smile
