At a loss to know where to post this really.

Man makes love to his car. Words fail me, and a Jaaaaag too.

I bet it will be a fun night in his pub tonight.

If you hadn't got banned, you could have followed up the article removal with "What, no love for this?" hehe

I was just about to say this - what a strange set of folk Theroux had to speak to on that bewildering journey. I also recall a documentary on Channel 5 back in the day which followed some 'enthusiasts' who loved their cars so much they married them.

This is all in America, of course. I'm quite worried that Surrey has it's very own public mentalcase of the same nature.

I don't want to go all beardy on you but I don't think it's that simple. I believe something like 90% of the underpinnings are different.

The Mondeo bits are basically the basic platform (the basis of which is actually the previous generation Mazda 626 before the Mondeo). The rear suspension from the Mondeo estate and reduced stoke version of the 2.5 engine to create the 2.0. All of these parts were then modified for use in the Jaguar by Jaguar themselves. Anything beyond that is the kind of stuff that's shared across loads of cars like the Bosch and Valeo bits etc.
