I have in the past found it beneficial to have an air-conditioned or cooled glovebox. I know the Toyota Yaris has this feature, and I believe the Skoda Octavia, Kia Optima, VW Passat and Mazda 3 also have or had this.

Can anybody point to a comprehensive and up-to-date list of models available now which have this feature?

Thanks

If this is, against all expectation, a serious question then I'm afraid it's highly unlikely that someone has put together and continued to update a list of all cars sold with this one very specific feature.

Pick some cars you'd like, read the specs.

I am trying to imagine the person that would see it as a good use of their time to compile that list..

Life is not long enough.

E46 M3 and 2007 r56 mini cooper s both had this option.

Cant really help with an official list but I can confirm the Octavia does as I have one. I would expect that the feature is shared with similar or higher spec cars too so probably the Superb, Kodiaq, Yeti and Seat Leon, Ateca, maybe Golf

I doubt there's a complete list with this option as the criteria so you may need to gather it piecemeal.

Discovery 3 (HSE spec and above) normally came with a cooler box in the center armrest. And it worked pretty well.

It might be easier for the good people of PH to post up the models of cars they've had with that feature, and let the OP make his own list from that.

I'll play...

My CL203 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor SportCoupe had an air-conditioned central armrest storage box (great for keeping your Red Bull nice and cold in the summer). wink

I dont think there will be a list.

In fact i'm almost certain there wont be a list.

If it's any help, i think my 2007 Civic does have a chilled glovebox facility...(but the AC doesn't work)

Thanks very much. This is indeed very helpful. Adding the other few I know about makes a reasonable list to work with.

Cheers

Our old Toyota Estima (JDM Spec Previa) had a hot and cold box. You could chose one or the other. Approximately 150 miles was enough to warm a couple of pasties through nicely.

When the AC was working, it would keep cooled cans of drink cool, but not really enough to cool a warm can, if you catch my drift.

Do they all have it as a factory standard, or as an option?

My experience is that these tend to be "cooler than ambient" but rarely perfectly cool like you might want from say a fridge.

My 2007 BMW 3 series had this, but annoyingly my current 2010 post facelift 3 series doesn't. My '07 E90 had a switch in the central arm rest to turn the chilling on and off. The chilled air vented into a can holder, but there was also room for sandwiches, chocolate etc.

Weirdly it's not in my 2005 S203 C Class - the outlet vents are there but there's no input vent/selector, yet it's shown as a standard feature on the car.

However on the motorway I stand cans on the big vent on top of the dash to cool them. I also find if it's a Red Bull can and I position it with the blue facing forwards it seems to help cut through motorway traffic. smile

The first gen Nissan X Trails took it a step further - they actually had 2 little compartments in the dash that were actually coke can sized which were cooled from the Air-Con and had little spring loaded doors on!

This is nearly as bad as the list of manufacturer's premium / sports brands.

How about a list of cars which use wheel bolts and which use wheel nuts?
And just to make it more interesting how many on each wheel 3,4 or 5.
