We're in the black Nissan; I parked centrally in the space as I always do. She starts going on about making me park more to the left as the beemer was too close. Getting out was still reasonable, ie it wasn't punishing them. I object as when the other owners come back, or cars come & go, they're all going wonder why I worked off to one side? I always like parking centrally. Not that it matters, but still.

Anyway, had to obey, as below. Who is right? We're already separated so we need something to squabble about

You should always try to park centrally, like the other two cars.

Common sense surely?

I'd have moved the car to another space further away just to piss her off even more

Definitely centrally if you have a passenger!

The BMW isn't parked centrally.

I will park bias to one side dependent on who's in the car with me and how big the spaces are.

Your wife is automatically right, because for some utterly unfathomable reason, you chose to drive forwards into a parking space, rendering any further discussion null and void. smile

Also shows what a humungous behemoth the BMW is.

No that was after I moved it to comply. Initially I was central. The beemer was off to one side, if not very apparent in the pic. Car park was full, no other spaces!

Actually it was so our wingmirrors weren't in line, as I knew it would be a bit awkward to walk past. Ie it was deliberate smile

OK it's a largish car but it just shows spaces are not large enough for the cars of the last 10-15 years.

+ 2, the way I see it, unless there's a compelling reason, e.g. access to the boot for shopping etc., only a civilian, or an amateur DRIVES into a space, rather than reversing in, driving in makes egress that much easier.

Im no civilian amateur but in a certain parking spot, I go in nose first. Then, I can deploy
my self-unlocking, self opening tailgate and engage smug mode. if I reverse in to the point where the tailgate will
clear, the car sticks out.

Centrally (where possible) - because when the other two cars ps off - people will think I have parked like a for no reason.

If there is insufficient space on the passenger side - let the passenger out, then park.

Both wrong. Always reverse into a space where possible. Far more likely to hit someone/something reversing out than reversing in.

I think everyone can agree that. But entirely useless if you forsee lots of shopping to be loaded into the boot.

We wouldn't have this problem with frunks and herring-bone parking. When I rule the world...
