Help Identifying Car

OK this is a bit of a long shot.

I have these poor quality pictures and most of the registration number of the car which slid in the snow and hit my house this morning.

Does anybody have any clue what it is?

Yes, drove off. My neighbour took the registration number but she clearly made a mistake while in a hurry as it doesn’t match any car. Can’t be far off tho.

I think I have a breakthrough. Am I allowed to put the registration number on here?

Anyway my neighbour had X?XX XXX, she had the second digit as an 8 but wasn’t sure. She just said it was a black hatchback type. If I change that digit to D I have a 2007 black Vauxhall Astra.

So long as no other letter can go in the second digit and still be an Astra it is time to report it to the police and to your home insurance company.

Of course the driver will probably say "I wasn't aware I hit anything" (Despite having no headlight on his car)

Yep, I’ve checked all the other second letters, a Mercedes convertible, a taxi, Lexus and a black VW Golf.

It’s hopeless trying to call the police these days so I guess it’s an online report and speak with home insurers in the morning.

A crime has been committed, and you've suffered financial loss as a result; you should report this to the police. Then, the insurers (the driver's).

Report it to Police for failing to stop.

If damage has been caused to another person or another person's property, you must stop and provide your full details to the injured party/the owner of the damaged property. You must supply your name and address and the name and address of the owner of the vehicle you were using, if it is not your vehicle. In the case of a person suffering injury you also have an obligation to report the matter to the Police "as soon as reasonably practicable" but in any event, within 24 hours.
