Don’t know if this is the right place for help but here goes, about 7 weeks ago I was told after some scans and biopsy,s that I have Prostate cancer, so been put on Hormone tablets, and just had an hormone implant, next week going to have 36 days of radiation treatment then in hospital for a few days to have some implants put in the Prostate.
Just now waiting for the results of a bone scan, anyway I will come to reason I am here, I brought a car 18 months ago for £45000 I put down £30,000 and had the rest on HP.
As I am self employed I cannot make at the payment t for the above reasons, the problem I have is the HP Company are giving me hassle every day saying they will come and take the car back, surly I have paid enough money to stop them snatching the car back until I get back to work or am I barking up the wrong tree, thay are driving me bloody mad ??

"Get health insurance!" That's fine for PHers as we're all powerfully-built company directors on £500k+ but for many people on NMW and forced to work as a contractor, they're fked.

Surely sell the car pay off the balance. Dealers can do this or explain in the private sale.

Thanks, I contacted the above website and they are going to sort it out for me tomorrow, I cannot lose the car as I have already paid over two thirds of the value, so they will have to freeze the monies owning till a later date.

I went through the same procedure three years ago. I timed my radiotherapy appointments for first thing in the morning and was in and out of the hospital in less than half an hour so ready to face the day by 9:00. It may not affect your work too much - good luck.

I was self employed when I went through similar and I found Macmillan pretty useless for financial aid without sending them a lot of documentation and attending an interview. I was literally busting a nut to make ends meet while dealing with wellwishers, fertility clinic, distraught family, a bit of depression and a house purchase. Incidentally if I had made my house purchase a fortnight earlier my insurance would have cleared the mortgage, but instead I had difficulty getting the bank to complete as my income had stopped completely and I would be out of work for at least 6 months, perhaps indefinitely.

I hope you can get some help, but I suspect selling the car and clearing the finance would be best, then buying another in a year or so (you could need the kind of pick me up that a new car gives next year)
