Recently took delivery of a Cupra 300 on the IMG lease deal.

I am trying to find the best insurance deal but my 5 years no claims discount expired in April 2015.
I drove a company car for 6 months then was without a car for 2 years (living in London & travelling).

Does anyone know of any insurance companies that will accept a no claims discount that is 2 years and 8 months old?

I had a similar issue with my motorbike insurance- I'd not had a policy for nearly 3 years when I decided to get back on. Almost all insurers told me they wouldn't consider my 10years plus NCD so I had to start again, I spent a day on the phone to various insurers & brokers until I found one company that would honour it. Even though they were actually the same cost or dearer as all the other quotes without NCD I went with them and got my full discount back, meaning the next year I could shop around to the cheapest again.
I'm afraid I cant remember who it was with, it was 4 or 5 years ago, but its definitely worth persevering and getting a decent broker to talk direct to the insurers/underwriters.

Just send them the ncd. Good chance they won't care that it's over 2 years old. If they do care, they'll increase your premium. A lot of places will just have an administrator receiving ncd, checking the years match, and ticking a box...

Bell accepted my no claims discount in the end.
They accept up to 3 years old, according to the agent I spoke to on the phone.
Hope this helps someone in the future.

Why does it matter how old the no claims is? If you've had a good history with no claims, them you have no claims ffs

Would you say that to your heart surgeon?

"Ok, so he's got documents to say he never killed anyone up to 2012, but since then I don't even know if he's actually operated on anyone. Still, he used to be good, so that's fine by me."

Maybe Man U should play Bobby Charlton on Saturday, I have evidence to show he used to be fking great.

Lucky we have eyesight and hearing tests every year for drivers, just because they were ok at 17/18 doesn't mean they are at 40. Oh...
