I want a F20 1 series next and I am that sure that I have bought two sets of alloys for it. The first set are 17 inch with winter tyres and the second set are 16 inch with new tyres on them.

Am I the only one that does this ?

My long-deceased Auntie Nellie always wanted a kilt, from being a little girl. She bought a kilt pin, a large, decorated safety pin that she still had when she died. She never got the kilt.

I bought some bits for an Audi quattro that I haven't got. Always wanted one, but doubt I will buy one now due to price and parts issues.

Not parts but Haynes manuals. I bought one for a Porsche 914, no idea why as I don't ever remember liking the car.

I bought a brand new crate LS3 last year. Then I tuned it. All before I had a car to put it in smile

That's not really car-specific, not any more than a magic tree is or a tax disc holder was, you can put an LS3 in almost anything wink

Do you want to buy some more parts? whistle

In answer to the OP, yes, I buy parts in the hope that I will get the car eventually.

Last lot, I spotted a Merc 124 estate in a local scrap yard.

A lowly E200 but with full genuine AMG kit.

As it was an old style scrap yard, rather than expensive breakers, the kit was a bargain.

Eventually got a E320 Sportline estate a couple of years later, just need to get the two together now rolleyes

Definitely not, if I see a good deal on parts or upgrades for I car/bike I intend to buy in the near future I will get them.

I have this. It's a gearbox cog from a William Renault F1 car.

It's the only but I have but eventually I plan to have the whole thing.

That's a bit random! biglaugh

Having said that, I've done this with watches. Bought one I didn't really like the look of, wore it for a bit, decided I still didn't like it, kept it around for a bit, then sold it (for a modest profit, to be fair).
