So I find the whole Thule roof rack set up somewhat confusing! I purchased a Thule roof rack from eBay ages ago for my old Saab 9-3 sportwagon. We now have an s max, and due to recent family expansion, need to buy a roofbox and rack. I wondered if the Thule might fit, or if it was just worth flogging off, so I’ve had a look online and find the whole set up of the Thule bars very confusing! Could anyone offer an idiots guide to how to identify which foot pack and fitting kit I have please?!
Thanks in advance for the help!

I’ve got two sets of wingbars and have recently done the same and worked out what I need to fit them to a different car.

The info is on the Thule site, I’d have thought you could check what kit they recommend for a 9-3 to see what components you currently have and work backwards from there.

I had to buy new feet only to get the bars for a CLS estate set to fit an XC90 - but that’s becasue I bought the “wrong” bars for the merc (even though they fitted fine). Minefield!

Spec a new one for the Saab, find the part number. Then do the same for the S-Max. Are they the same??

Ebay could be useful - do a search for car model (remember to also search completed listings) and it might throw up the relevant part numbers in the ad which you can cross reference.

Thanks chaps. Some excellent suggestions! Turns out my entire set up (including the bars!) are wrong for the s max, so it’s going to have to be new bars! Deep joy!

Sorry to jump on this thread.
I dug an old set of bars fitting kit/feet etc out of the loft yesterday which have been there for about 6 years.
Is there anyway to id the rubber fitting kit by looking at it.
I cant remember if i bought the fitting kit for my current car or not.
Thanks

Is there a 4 digit number somewhere on it? Mine have the id number and position moulded into the rubber.

Hi
Ive also got some short bars with covers at one end.
What do they fit

On the bottom of the rubber feet on my fitting kit it states
853-2210
What does that relate to google is not that helpful.

Looking for some part ID help.

Bought a Thule Aero Bar (Thule 969) and some. Thule 754 rapid system.

It came with a fitting kit with part numbers below. Anyone know how to identify which fitting kit it is and what it fits?

376 (RR) + 1181 bracket
375 (RL) + 1181 bracket
