Parking ticket on private property
Discussion
I don't think you're going to get much sympathy here. I'm not aware of the regulations but I imagine a bay marked in white is equally as valid as a bay marked in yellow.
A better picture might help (of the bay itself) and the signage relating to it.
How much do they want. I'm assuming it's a parking charge notice and not a fine being private land?

As when you drive in to the site the parking is on the right but because of construction is in progress there ain't many parking bay hen's why I didn't notice the sing on the floor because I was looking for a parking bay to my right
But once you had parked in that strangely accessible but empty space you got out of the car and checked, right? As far as I'm aware only the Council or the Police can fine you.
On private land you would be issued with a Parking Charge Notice which is a speculative invoice (different from a Penalty Charge Notice).
You used to be able to get out of them by either completely ignoring them or saying that although you are the registered keeper of the vehicle you do not know who was driving at the time. Advice also was to never appeal (appealing is an admission of guilt).
I got out of a Parking Eye ticked using the above method. I'm not sure if this is still the current advice. The theory was it was too expensive to take you to court so they just relied on ever increasingly threatening letters so the majority paid up.

This private ticket is not backed by law and is only enforceable through civil proceedings for a breach of contract (expensive).
If the car park operator is not an accredited one they will not be able to obtain your details from DVLA.
If you are of a mind to not pay this, then sit tight they can only contact you if they are an accredited source. Do not write to them and give your details.
If they do contact you subsequently then you know they are accredited and then you must decide what to do. If you ignore all their demands, they can only get money from you by taking civil proceedings against you. If they don't know who was driving and you haven't told them, then they risk you turning up and just saying it was someone else.

You might get a bit more sympathy if you are honest about what really happened. I'm guessing you thought you would get away with parking in a disabled bay as half the car park was closed due to ongoing works. Looks to me that there is a one way system in place so unless your car is lhd then you must have seen a 4ft long disabled sign painted under your feet.
I'm not preaching, if the car park was full I might have chanced it myself. You risked it, you got caught, pay up. Their car park so their rules.

Throw the ticket in the bin and all subsequent letters. Noone's going to take you to court for that sort of money. I probably owe thousands in private parking tickets lol.
That advice is incorrect now unfortunately. You don't have to pay, but dont listen to the above. If they get your details get yourself on pepipoo for advice, not here! Jimboka said:
Just pay the £60 & forget about it. It’s not worth the aggro of trying to brazen it out to score a point.
Personally I wouldn't as it has no legal standing. It's a speculative invoice. However you do need to put the time and effort in to win. I spent about 5 or 6 hours perhaps on mine when I got one incorrectly and could have done without the hassle but rightly got it dropped in the end. 6 threatening letters over about 6 months each needing response.200Plus Club said:

I'd say in your case yes, you did the right thing, but OP clearly parked in a disabled bay so really if it did go to court exactly what is he going to say?Personally if I'd parked in a disabled bay and was caught I'd pay it because I'd been a bit of a dick in doing so.
The lesson is don't be a dick I guess.
