Just tried registering, only for it to tell me my mobile number's already registered. Vaguely remember using it once a few years ago, but no idea what the password is, and to retrieve it you need to supply a vehicle registration. Guess what, none of the cars I've had for the last 20 years work banghead

It appears you can contact them online, but guess what, you need to fking log in first banghead

Or you can call them, £1.53 per minute banghead

(or am I missing something - any suggestions appreciated and I'm happy to look like a fool wink )

As someone who uses hire cars for work so the Reg is constantly changing I had the same problem only a few weeks ago.

I managed a reset via email if that helps.

Agreed though.... a very poor setup.

I parked in Ashford in Kent a few months ago, and upon using the Ringo app, was interested to see that I'd paid to park in Westminster instead...!

I use them about once a week and never had a problem. Annoyed initially at being charged for unnecessary texts but that was easy to fix. Admittedly I do bookings on my PC before I leave.

What is the benefit of ringo having never heard of it before is it so you don’t have to walk to the ticket machine ? Or is there some other benefit

Main benefit as far as I can see is simply convenience; you don't need to be constantly rooting around for change for parking machines. I know there are places where you can pay for on-street parking with a card, which makes RingGo slightly less useful, but here in Edinburgh I haven't come across any. Can't remember the last time I parked using coins; been using RingGo for years and never had an issue.

You can have several cars in it, I have both ours listed so if I take my missus car I use that. However, the app leaves a lot to be desired! They used to email receipts but stopped unless you did something in the app, which I could never find, but you can do it via the website (which you need the login and then I had your problem!)

Always use saynoto0870.com for this sort of nonsense.

Company Name 087x 084x 01 / 02 / 03 Freephone Other Information
RingGo
0905 009 1122
020 3046 0010 Ringgo are managing the parking for Westminster council.

RingGo
0905 009 1122
020 3046 0200 Other number given (0010) is for paying at a bay. 0905 no costs £1.53 from BT and more from mobile!

Obviously the 020 numbers are the ones to use.

And you can be in the office and pay for more parking time. And you have optional texts to confirm the booking and when you're close to the end.

I had a problem registering a new car so ended up having to phone their number to pay last time.

another benefit is that it alerts you when your parking is running out and you can extend it without running back to the car.

I had an interesting one, I was in a car park in a new vehicle, so added the reg, realised I put the reg in wrong changed it in the app and then applied for the parking, what I did not notice was the app showed the wrong reg when the ticket went through. I only found out when I came back and had a ticket.

Trying to explain that to the council and ringo was almost impossible and down to my fault for not checking when the ticket went through.

Quick update, after deciding in my rage I'd leave a poor review on the App Store (I know, power to the people) I noticed other reviews with similar complaints, but one of them had a reply from the company with an email address to use, so fired off a request. And to be fair I got a reply pretty quickly which gave me the registration I had used (a VW camper we hired 6 years ago, so no chance of me remembering!). So now logged in and sorted smile

Still think the reg. number is a stupid security check, and they don't make it easy to find a way to contact them, so if anyone else has issues then use this email address:

support@RingGo.co.uk

It's one of those things I won't need very often, but as I don't tend to carry around much change it's easier to have it set up in advance rather than faffing around in the car park with the pay by phone option.

The main benefit of these types of pay by phone parking schemes is that you can extend the parking period remotely from your phone, if you need to.

London councils are split between RingGo and ParkMobile.

Parkmobile is better, it charges you for the time you use (press start when you park, stop when you leave), Ringo on the other hand forces you to book a specified amount of time which means that a) you have to guess before time which is a PITA b) means you will overpay and c) you need to remember to get the app out before the time runs out and extend it, or will get a ticket.

So RingGo, whilst it is better than hunting for cash, is actually st. ParkMobile FTW. http://www.parkmobile.co.uk/how_pay_by_phone_parki...

Not having to carry cash and change. Being able to extend your parking without going back to the ticket machine. It's 2018.

+1 I did the same thing with no issues. The only thing to note is there is an option to select a preferred car which could cause an issue if you have multiple cars like me & don't check which reg no you're applying the ticket too.
