Wonder if the PH collective could bring their experience to bear on this.

Trying to renew my car insurance but add my significant other to the policy. She is an Irish National, driving on an EU License, resident in Germany. I am a UK National, insured to drive her VW camper in Germany on my UK License. No issue. But it seems that UK insurers revert to "computer says no" as soon as you come up with something slightly out of the ordinary.

Trying A Plan now, the current Underwriter Adrian Flux is using (Aegis) for my current policy is saying no. And the usual search engines are throwing up "no can do".

I don't understand what the issue is when it's completely doable in Germany.

No definite knowledge on this but a couple of thoughts;
- might germany be like france where they calculate the risk of the car not the driver?
- when your partner is in the UK don't they co-habit with you?

Aviva and Zurich used to have no issue with EU nationals. Not sure now, but worth a try.
