Alloy air leak

Recently I got a flat tyre and I took the wheel to a garage, they said that the alloy is causing the air to leak, however this issue hasn't occurred before with the alloy. Their suggestion was to replace the alloy, is this necessary? Any possible alternatives?

The most common problem is just corrosion around the bead where the tyre seals.

Simple enough to clean it off with a powered wire brush and re-seat the tyre - this has worked every time for me.

I had this and got all the tyres taken off & re seated. Unfortunately when it was in their tank, the fitter found the last one he did had a small crack with air bubbles coming from it. He thought it could be welded up, but I've just put different wheels on.

My Volvo did this on all 4 wheels, so I bought a new car.

I’ve had the same in the past. Got the wheels refurbed and was sorted afterwards.
