After a NGK 38800 which also translate to a bremi 771/37

This a link to the ngk https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ngk/1041878 but the delivery is a bit much

Any clues, it needs to be a min of 40cm between the coil and buzz cap

Thanks

Why not go down to Halfords, buy one a bit longer, and shorten it to exactly the length you need?

The ends only screw into the wire, so unscrew one end, cut cable to length required, and then screw end back in.

They don't unscrew. They used to, on cheap leads, a long, long time ago.

But for sourcing 1, any motor factor or accessory shop that has been around years will have a selection of leads in stock they will be happy to get rid of.

It’s funny, I went round a few factors yesterday, they seemed less than interested once the number plate relating to said part was a import

What you need is an old fashioned type place. Staff/owners who know cars not just read part numbers off a screen. People who know what bits can fit what, other than what the screen says

Avoid the national type places, look for an established independant who has got old stock as well as new. Most towns have a place like this, but probably only used by established trade, very little joe public.

I would be looking for somewhere that has one of those display racks with many different lengths dangling on & find one to suit.

As above, they don't unscrew, OLD copper ones did & that was about 20 years ago. They are all carbon fibre now & pre-made.

Spare tyre,

If you enter NGK38800 into the search box on Kakapart.com, it lists all the cars which use this particular lead. You can then search Ebay by these car models, until you find the cheapest lead.

It looks as though NGK38800 is the same as Bosch 0986356091, which fits a Skoda Favorit, and can be bought for the princely sum of £6.80 inc P&P.

Cheers all

Was contemplating going down the diy route, but was avoiding for as long as possible as if there’s a chance for me to bugger it up, I’d manage it. Changing lots of bits and pieces over on this car so would like to keep it as oem as poss

Thanks for the site suggestion, I had been doing some similar educated poking about finding alternatives, but yours looks good, just hope it’s long enough

For £6 I’ll order it up as thats cheaper than my time next weekend morning running around. Will update

Thanks all for your time on this, it’s appreciated
