I have a Ring Pro - it's very good and my wife absolutely loves it.
The pro comes with a transformer & is hard wired which works for me.
I also bought an Echo Show at the same time - discounted bundle from Amazon - so I can ask Alexa to show me who is at the door.
It's also installed on both our phones - so if we're in the garden, we still hear the doorbell and away from home you can chat with whoever is at the door. Wifey can't stop telling people that last week she spoke to a delivery driver whilst we were sitting in a lounge at Hong Kong airport..... and she could see him !

ker in the post.I have the spotlight cam which replaced a PIR, and the doorbell cam as my main entrance is hidden from the road.
Very happy with both. Doorbell cam battery powered, it just tells me when to recharge the battery.
Only got 7mb here, so the intercom could be better, but video quality fine.

If you go down the Ring route, make sure you have a very good WiFi signal at your front door as they are notorious for falling off the WiFi a lot.
The Google doorbell and cameras are using considered better than the ring equivalents but are also more expensive. If you are considering cameras at some point in the near future consider the doorbell and exterior cameras together as it’s easier to keep the ecosystem together.

IME the wired ones tend to be much better than the wireless. Our wired spotlight at the front perpetually has full signal and is 4-5 meters from the access point; the wireless one out back frequently dips into the "amber" poor signal rating despite being 2m from the extender.I can only echo what others have said with regard to the WiFi signal. You also have an option to go either battery or hard wire. We had an origianl bell push so I just wired the ring to that. Not sure how long the battery lasts but I don't have to worry. It'ss 100% power, all the time.
App works fine and is easy to set up. Much easier than my Swann CCTV app which needs an expert to set up. The Ring is a breeze to set up.

I have a Ring pro doorbell, much smaller than the battery version and if reviews are to be trusted and from my experience seems to have better WiFi recept on than the others, possibly because it is powered permanently.
It comes with a WiFi charm that we have upstairs and with the latest update the Alexa announces there is some one at the door.
We have no delay on the doorbell or not more that 1 or 2 seconds. Video quality is great, ours is positioned at an angle and covers both our cars as well as the whole entrance.
The annual subscription is about 23quid for the year.
I drilled a small hole for the cable in to the garage, got a box for the transformer from Screwfix and put a plug on the other end. Very easy never had a problem.
I would highly recommend the Ring pro.

We bought a Nest door bell, it integrates with our other nest security cameras and the design is pleasing to my eye. I like the zones you can set, and the facial recognition. Quality and night vision are very good and the app is good too. Nest is deffo worth a look.
With the wired type, you'll need to fit16-24v transformer either into the consumer unit or some people hide them in the bell boxes. Fairly simple job to do.
