Approaching a left turn onto the slip road, onto the A63 from Hessle if anyone knows it. I was actually just starting the turn when a Grey RR,(what is it with this Grey colour, thought that was out of fashion now), cut right across me from the opposite lane. I'd spotted him approaching quickly so was prepared for it but still. He was staring straight at me as he did it as if challenging me?? I didn't take my hands off the wheel or swear at him or anything but, once in front, he then started braking, accelerating, braking, accelerating, and I could see him looking in his rear view mirror, challenging me to react I'm sure!!
When I didn't, and slowly followed him, he shoots off, pulling straight onto lane 1,right in front of a box wagon who had to brake himself, blaring his horn!!
He then accelerates on, has to slow for another car in lane 1, as lane 2 is full of cars moving along at speed. The box wagon accelerates into lane 2 and blocked him from overtaking the car slowing him down so I caught up with him before the next turn off!!

What the hell is it with these people. Get aggressive with people, but then can't plan ahead in case someone takes them up on it, if you see what I mean!!

Yes clearly all Range Rover drivers are pratts, you have conclusive proof.

It’s ok to admit though that secretly you really want one!

I'd like to be able to afford one maybe, but I prefer my little Golf and it's handling!

Who said Range Rover?

It could be a Rolls Royce, Reliant Robin etc.

Good point. I assumed Range Rover as I have one and I am a colossal pratt.

Had a BMW 5 series doing circuits of me on the M1 the other day. I was minding my own business, keeping reasonably sensibly left, then moving out to overtake cars and moving back. The traffic was medium so moving out and back worked well. I noticed the BMW as when I moved out from L1 to overtake a car in L2, I had to pause as he went by in L3.

I'm pretty much on cruise control, only coming off to slow when needed. He pulls in, I go by and pull in behind, he slows I overtake, pull in, he speeds up (fairly quickly) moves out and overtakes me, then slows down. Sometimes he pulls in directly in front of me, sometimes into a gap further ahead.

We do this a few times before I really clock it. Then we carry on the dance until I get a bit bored of it. So I pull alongside him in L3, he's in L2 and look at him. He looks at me, winds his window down, does a big thumbs up and accelerates off.

Does he fancy me?

Range Rover drivers drive like they own the road - and if it's a new RR or nearly new, they probably do.

Older Range Rovers, especially in black, are drug dealers and are also prats.

Classic Range Rovers are old money marble-mouthed prats.

You might not like the stigma attached to the brand (because you won one), but the reality is that statistically many of them ARE driven (and parked) by absolute pratts. Reputations are (mostly) based on facts.

I'm sure many BMW and Audi also feel equally aggrieved at the stigma attributed to their peers.

Either, you were in a Subaru Legacy and he probably did, or

Your car had winter tyres and he couldn't resist looking at them.

We have two BO55 plates adorning Range Rovers on my patch. I'm always on alert if in my vicinity.

During the 250 miles that I drove today, the biggest idiot was in the smallest car, some blue hatchback thing, the driver seemed to think that when joining the motorway it's ok to just launch off the end of the slip road whether or not someone else is already in lane one. There were a few dicks in RR's but I expect them to be dicks so there were no surprises, before the RR drivers get all precious, I expect everyone to drive like a dick, it's served me well for the past 40 years.

Is that the same as 'treat all other drivers as an idiot'? So last century. Try giving a little more credit to your fellow road users, you might be surprised.drivingsilly

Funny how the nicest person you'll meet drives a Range Rover with clear glass, small wheels, original number plate and painted in a nice light shade of green, whilst the worst drives a Range Rover with tints, 22" rims, BO55 reg plate and painted matt black.

Were you driving one of the Formula Fords? He could just have been a car enthusiast? hehe

I drive a grey RR, also with the 22’’ wheels. I can’t understand why this Pratt behaved why he did as I find mine to be a thoroughly relaxing place to be. Sounds like you came across a total berk op and the car he was in probably didn’t make much difference.

Yes .one cut in front of me in Italy recently.

I wouldn't have minded if it had been a Panda.

I used Anglo Saxon words to describe his driving.

Funny, none of these things ever happen with me. I spot a pratt driver a mile away, let them be a pratt with someone else, then sit and soak up the entertainment.
