I keep getting 8 errors up (it's like playing a fruit machine!)

A few photos

Others are ABS, stability, brake workshop, traction control, tyre pressure and related. Warnings aren't spurious, items listed are failures. First diagnosis was too many errors to say. Second was failed ABS sensor, third is more than one failed ABS sensor.

Coincidences do occur, of course they do. Are we going to bet that two ABS sensors failed simultaneously, or does somebody want to suggest an alternative bet?

Check the health of your battery. Can cause all sorts of false positives with a dodgy battery.

Thanks. Actually I've noticed that stop/start doesn't work with air-con on full chat. scratchchin

It wouldn't happen to be a honda would it? Our CRV is doing the same thing. Seems to be one sensor trips a warning and then they all go. You go from low fuel to brakes, power steering, low tyre pressure the lot.

Battery is almost brand new so dont think it's that.

The stop/start is highly unlikely to function with aircon fully on even with a perfect condition battery -n there are a long list of parameters it has to meet before it will actually work

ECU failing ?

Had a car throw up all manner of fault codes - sensor this and sensor that. Would sometimes go into limp mode, other times not. Hand held tuner cleared them, fine for a day or two, fine for a week or two. No pattern.

Turned on aircon and car went into limp mode. Restarted car tried aircon again - no problem.

Car conked out one afternoon and wouldn’t play ball at all. Garage stuck it on a computer - dead ECU.

Replaced and all OK.

My bet is a failing ECU. But, then I generally know nothing.

Engine performance is spot on though. Would a dodgy crank sensor result in misfire or similar?

This thread is wrong. You’re not supposed to ask for ideas about what is wrong with the car. It should go something like this:

“X months / years ago I pulled the trigger on a brand new / 2nd hand VW from a main dealer / 2nd hand dealer / private seller and now it has started to throw up all sorts of warning lights. I’m so annoyed because it is my dream car.

Can I end the lease early / make the dealer buy it back / go back to the private seller for compensation? ”

This then allows others to criticise your choice of buying method, choice of car, where you live, and views on Brexit.

In response to your question: stop / start not working when the a/c is on full is normal. To have that number of errors it could be battery voltage, or a bad earth, or a dying module: BCM rather than ECU - those are body systems not engine systems.

Odd that ACC and front park assist come up together- ACC should use different sensors to park assist, although maybe the VW system is fancier than what I’m used to.

ETA: BCM is Body Control Module i.e. the body equivalent of the ECU.

Have you tried 'switching it off & on again'?

Only 1/2 joking. A lot of these BCM's have a 'reset' function. Disconnect battery; wait ??? mins etc.
