If they make it work with those numbers it'll be very cool. The design looks spot on, very relatable to the original cars, quirky proportions and all, but equally nicely sharp and modern. A modern "micro" car sports car is a novel proposition.
I'm not convinced the business model stacks up, but if they manage to get a few built and sold, they'll definitely be a unique product. Now if only BMW could buy out Microlino and refine a 2021 Isetta to sit alongside it, I'll take one of each

I thought the original company had been dissolved a long time ago.
I think this is the company that changed its name at the beginning of October. Presumably they bought the rights whatever they might be.
Good luck to them - Looks interesting but the numbers are hard to work.
The roadster will have to compete with the MX5 at one end and the Boxster at the other. If it’s lightweight and genuinely fun then it might be one to watch - less concerned by what it is made of and more interested in weights and performance/handling

If it's really going to be 700kg, it would seem more of an ultra-lightweight, Elise/Caterham type car, than an MX-5 - Boxster competitor. OTOH if it's a bit more civilised it could complete with the A110 at the £50k mark, both being mid-engined turbo fours.
I like the styling, seems a really refreshing break from the modern style of high beltlines and huge wheels, and eschewing the aero priority of a high tail. Very nice.
That said, the pair of tiny slits ahead of the rear wheels don't look to me to provide nearly enough airflow for a 400hp engine, between air inlet, intercooler, rad and general engine cooling.
Anyway, hope that it makes the jump from render to reality, would be great to see it come together and impress the magazines.

Is it really the same company or has someone bought the name and started a new venture?
It's the latter. It's nothing to do with the original company. Is it really the same company or has someone bought the name and started a new venture?
Chancers trying to make a buck on a very long defunct name..
