Today, for no reason that I can possibly think of, I have a strange yearning for a Fiat X1/9!

Bertone styling, Italian, mid engined, targa roof, pop up headlights, what's not to like?

I've no idea why though, I don't think I've seen one for probably 25 years.

The Daihatsu Wake. Preferably in 4wd and blue. Looks stupid but then so do I.

Also fantastic! Didn't NSU later become Audi?

I owned one of these about 25 years ago in burgundy. It was good fun at the time when it worked. Most of the time I had electrical problems & the alternator was gubbed.

Not quite, the Ro80 bankrupted NSU and VAG hoovered up the carcass.

I've always liked some low powered small cars. One of these, please.

Not so much a yearning to own but I've always wanted to drive a Reliant Robin and I don't really know why, perhaps to see just how bad they are or maybe to see how long I can keep it off it's roof...

I've rather admired the Rover 75, especially in Wedgewood Blue.

A Perodua Nippa or Kelisa. No idea why, they just appeal in some weird way!

Yes.

I woke up one day and had a strong yearning for a Bristol..that was last January. It's been a year, and I still dont have one. It's slightly subdued, but whenever I see one (or rather, a photo of one) the fire inside me reignites.

The other week I decided I wanted a VW Phaeton and two weeks before that I nearly talked myself into a Hyundai Genesis - a once £50k barge with a 3.8 V6 now £12k-15k to have as a daily driver.

X1/9, Ro80, S800.... bizarre? Not the word I would use: awesome, innovative, mould breaking even, but not bizarre.
