Irrational car thoughts

When I believed I might one day have a collection of cars I considered a Theme of Seven. This way I could own an Austin 7, a Lotus 7, an RX-7 and a DB7. If finances allowed I could extend the collection to include cars less obviously seven, such as the Austin Healey 3000 (the BN7) and the 7 litre Cobra.
Finances not being as I once hoped, no sevens are involved in my current retirement project.

Digital clocks make me think of Peugeot, BMW, Ferrari and Porsche, but never Mercedes or any others that might use numbers for model designations.
I've got a Nearly Half Past Nine in the garage, would like an Almost Quarter To Ten, and passed up a good Twenty Five To Seven some years ago. A Not Quite Ten Past Three would be fantastic (Italian, not French, obvs...) and a Five To Four would be marvellous.

In the 90s, faced with a daily commute of 95 miles each way Newbury to Rugby, I seriously considered a Frogeye Sprite.
After due consideration I realised it would have been more comfortable to get there on my hands and knees.
Instead I bought an MG Metro. It wasn't much better. To clarify, I liked it but it wasn't the ideal vehicle for the journey.

I've had similar thoughts occasionally but can never decide what to go for and stick with it - Mk2, MkX or S-Type Jag? Rover P5 3-litre Coupe? RR Silver Shadow? Not sure whether it's irrational or not, but occasionally I get the idea to recreate my first car, an orange 1977 Mini 1000 that was built in Belgium with slightly different trim to the standard Longbridge cars and had somehow gained some nice Innocenti bits before it came into my ownership. The idea comes and goes then I get distracted by something else!
