Hole in wheel arch, is this a mot fail?

I have a hole in the rear arch of one of my sheds, is this a mot fail and can it be bodged with filler?

Tape should be enough for an mot

Whack a bit of gaffer tape over the hole. I think the MOT says no jagged edges which might cause harm to a ped if you manage to hit them, but could well be wrong on that.
I know my shedscort passed once liberal lengths of poundland duck tape had been added to the (almost non existent) rear arches.

This is the most important part as regards to if it will fail we need to know where the hole is

External wheel arch usually isn't structural, inner is different ....

If it is inside a prescribed area it will fail regardless.
Maybe ask the question on the 'ask a tester thread' on here, other testers will discuss it with you on that thread if you don't trust my reply.

I don't and I'm an MOT tester. A hole in a bonnet directly above the suspension is not an MOT fail regardless of it easily being within 30cm. It's got to be supporting panelling, not just any old bit of metal.

A bonnet or doors are not prescribed areas though are they? A wheelarch is.

A wheel arch might be, it is not definite.

A hole in a nonstructural area is irrelevant as long as it hasn't got any sharp edges that could cause an injury.

My other half's car has a plastic outer wheel arch (and wing) - would you try to weld that?

Even with a photo we might be none the wiser but at least he/she could give us a sporting chance!
