Would a 112mph speed limiter put you off buying the car?

No, not any more, as long as it had decent performance up to that speed.
In reality, how many drive at speeds in excess of that, and where can you? I've driven tens and tens of thousands of miles all over Europe and in the past 5-10 years there's been more and more cameras etc and I now find it more relaxing just to maintain a highish average; even in Germany it isn't as easy as it was.

Absolutely wouldn't bother me at all as I haven't hit the ton since I was in my thirties. However, I do accept that, on certain roads, at certain times, in certain conditions, some people would rag it and so wouldn't want their car to have a 112 MPH limit. Imagine being king of the road in your Porsche Turbo and a 2-up bike comes past laughing at you as you hit VMAX and they sail past....

Just because I never drive at or above 112mph on the UK public road (honest guv) doesn't mean that I never drive above 112mph. Like many I can also imagine scenarios where I would wish to have access to all the speed I can muster and 112mph really isn't that fast on an empty motorway, especially if you're used to higher speeds so I'd be rocking back and forth in my seat willing the limiter to disappear.
I wouldn't go to the effort of having the limiter defeated if all manufacturers go that way, mind.
In the US, where many cars have low factory speed limiters, the manufacturers take the opportunity to fit lesser tyres as you don't need a 186mph-rated tyre on a car that's limited to 112 mph.
