I’ve not seen a thread yet. Horrific accident. Looks like very high speed into a tiled roundabout, landed inverted in a field with all occupants still onboard. All at silly o’clock in the morning.Must have been way up in the air and travelled a fair distance. Looks like something German.

Blimey they've gone along way looking at that.

Nasty.

An elderly couple crashed like that in front of me a few years back… they didn’t even brake. Jumped a long way and landed on the wheels, no serious injury.

Really fast long straight bit of road leading up to that roundabout. Bad way to go. I can’t even recognise the car. BMW alloys?

Looks like an M5?

Nasty, it's been flattened.

F10 M5 judging by the wheels and the vent behind the front arch.

Poor bds, presumably it's just done a perfect pirouette in the air and landed straight on the roof? No standard roof structure in the world could stand up to that.

Yes, I read that one too. Hi-lux into a substantial tree. Not particularly crash worthy vehicles. Seems to be a bit of 8 about at the moment, or certainly some headline grabbers.

Grim.

They must have known they were going to die for a couple of seconds.

The Hilux one was at 0100 in the morning too, assumptions have been made.

Locals going home after a evening to watch one of there own fight in Las Vegas. Been plenty of Insta posts from boxers about the family.

Both incidents are grim

Hmm.
When I saw the photo I had a flashback to this thread.
M5, similar outcome, a decade and a bit later.

Sometimes the outcome of a crash is unpredictable. The driver of this flying car suffered only minor injuries, amazingly.

A 15 year was ejected too and is very poorly in London ... one word for the Kent incident, seatbelts. Cultural refusal to belt up can only end one way when trees are involved.

I thought hat was perhaps a little insensitive but can see your point, they must have been going at a fair old speed to do that, not sure what the speed limit is down there but cant think of any where that outcome is possible.

Bit sanctimonious on my part as I am not averse to putting my foot down a bit but does show that despite all the modern safety stuff, physics is still waiting to do its thing. It is incredible how fast modern cars have got, do think its completely at odds with the surroundings and environment they operate in. they have been tamed to an extent with the electronics, airbags and stuff but can still get it wrong, mostly you get away with it but not always, very sobering.

Quite unusual to hear of two very big accidents like that.

Quite eerie reading those threads.

One of the posters literally said a few days before the crash, 18 year olds and M5's are a recipe for a accident, or words to that effect.

When I was coming back from the scramble on Sunday, there is a similar roundabout on the A43 (near to where BAR Honda were based) with multiple gouges in the fancy ‘ramped’ brickwork and what looked like a Golf R in the ditch on the opposite side. I wonder if the design of these roundabouts isnt helping - a bit like the start of armco has changed design from a (launch) ramp to a flat spreader plate on the end.

I like a fast car but do wonder if manufacturers need to make more ‘drivers’ cars that are enjoyable at lower speeds - GT86 is a good example.

I live near there. When browsing property, I often see houses in a village called Hockliffe that seem too cheap to be true. Hockliffe is on the A5 a couple of miles south of this accident; pretty obvious why it's so cheap now. Imagine how many cars drive along there in the middle of the night at mad speed that don't end up on their roof in a field. No thanks.
