Thr war on cars is getting a bit ridiculous now. The clean air zones.... the insane tax.. it won't be long before you wlcant even take out your weekend car for a blast without spending £1000 a year in tax and being contained by clean air zones.

It is getting ridiculous. Road trips will be a thing of the past, if you are a car enthusiast the UK is horrid and getting worse
Yes, the war on cars has prompted me to emigrate immediately. These policy makers have been so cruel towards us driving enthusiasts.

How dare they?!

I was thinking of moving to Ireland because of the amount in tax my cars are costing me every year....

Where are you going to move to?

Lots of cities in Europe have or a planning to have some sort of levy on driving for older, more polluting cars.

Road tax on cars in Europe is considerably higher in some countries than the U.K.

Difference in fuel ain’t that much that you’d emigrate for.

Speed cameras are a fact of life no matter where you live.

If you live outside of major cities, what restrictions or impositions do you face?

What are you on about?

The UK is one of the best countries in the world for running ‘sports’ cars without punitive taxes and or restrictions.

Sounds like a urban issue, not sure they could have cleaner air than we already do in N Wales.

Despite what the UK government might do to motoring enthusiasts, it's still a better place to live than Somalia.

Get a grip

Whilst there are a lot of people who hate cars and the idea of people driving, there is no war on cars. For decades our towns and lives have been built almost entirely around the car so we are used to having billions invested into roads. What we are seeing now is a little bit of investment in cycle lanes, buses, trams and pedestrian friendly zones to readdress some of the bias in our towns that has always been slanted towards cars.

Jamaica isn't bad outside of certain areas. Most Caribbean islands you'd actually want to live in have savage luxury car taxes however

I can't even imagine how perfect my life would otherwise need to be for this to become such a significant factor that I'd worry about it at all - let alone let it drive me to emigration. Uprooting my family, my company - because road tax is too high?

Yeah, no.
