Hi all,

Need a bit of advice. My boss has reversed into my car causing damage to bumper, lights and back rear quarter of car.
The car is a 2011 Peugeot partner tepee.
I just want to know with the damage what action would be taken by insurance with the amount of damage ie repairs / write off etc.
In an awkward position claiming against works insurance and want to know what would be the probable outcome of repairs etc?
Thanks

No idea but you won’t get much response posting this in website feedback. Maybe the mods can move it somewhere sensible for you?

I’d personally say that’s a write off if you go through insurance will need a new quarter panel which realistically will be 2k plus on its own

Definitely a write off I'd say - rear 3/4 panel, rear bumper and light unit obviously. Might even break into Cat B with paint and hire car.

What utter shyte are you spouting ?

I suggest not posting on something you have no idea what your talking about.

New salvage cats don’t take into account paint and hire …..

It was explained by an insurer to me that Cat B was 200% value for the repair excluding hire car. That includes paint and parts etc.

Obviously N and S have been updated but I don't think A and B have.

This is what I thought , wasn’t sure whether it could be repaired by tapping it out and filled with body filler however wasn’t sure what effect this had on the value of the car etc?

I think it's more down to the increasing prevalent attitude of "if the insurance is paying for it I have a right to have brand new bits" which I think itself comes fro the obsession we now have with how much cars will be worth when we sell them. I'm sure the OP could get it written off then buy it back, get someone to bash it back into shape for a few quid, buy a second-hand light cluster, and keep using it.

Why? Just claim through your insurance, let them handle it..

I would actually say the cost of putting a new quarter would be more than £2k but either way they would write it off.
