Fine in theory, but you would never get the seals to work effectively.

This is why we still have reciprocating piston engines with poppet valves, piston rings seal well and last a long time, same with poppet valves.

Someone in the video chat mentioned using high air pressure as a bearing lube in jet engines.

Could 2-stage seals work for your the 583? Usual rubber or metal seals at rest, changing on-demand to high differential air or fluid pressure (that activates when conditions require, like a supercharger vent gage in reverse)?
