Is the RR Cullinan the ugliest car on sale?

My wife, who doesn’t know much about cars, had the dubious pleasure of seeing her first Cullinan yesterday. It was white so maybe not in its best colour. However, she almost gasped and said, “my god what is that - it’s so ugly!” To which I was forced to agree.

A good-looking SUV is probably an oxymoron but there are some that aren’t too bad. The Cullinan seems to go out of its way to look horrid. I wouldn’t ever buy a RR but some look quite nice. The Cullinan looks like a comedy Chinese or Japanese copy.

So is it the ugliest? I’m sure there are other contenders but keep in mind that when you spend well north of £300k on a car surely it shouldn’t look like something Noddy and Big Ears would only be seen in after dark!

It’s very close IMO.

There isn’t a single part of it that’s even remotely passable design wise and it’s incredibly gaudy and crass.

There are worse, but it it looks like an updated black cab with a RR grille stuck on. Far below the standard of elegance of older RR cars.

If the Royce isn’t the ugliest, (and it is very ugly), then I’m struggling to name a current vehicle that is.

IMO, the best looking of that type of vehicle is the Porsche Macan.

Is the BMW ix on sale yet? Is it is then no, the Cullinan is not the most ugly.

I do wonder aesthetically challenging is the new pretty though. From plastic surgery to cars to clothing, it seems that so many are so keen to look so bad.

It's not nice, but so long as BMW's design team exists it's simply uncompetitive in the race to win the Ugliest Car on Sale trophy.
