Around 15 years back (yes I can't believe it myself) I had a 1996 Sigma Blue 306 D-Turbo S which I cherished for years which was on the registration plate P801 UJO.

Last month on ebay, a Kingfisher Green version of my same car & model went up for sale....P840 UJO. I couldn't believe my eyes and if it wasn't in such a sorry state, I might just have bought it....

PS: Sorry, geek alert. The Phase 1 D Turbo-S models were quite a rare beast, built only for around 9 months as run out model and only ever sold in two colours (Sigma and Kingfisher), but had unique interior trim and badging....hence it is rare to ever see one these days, let alone with a similar plate to mine.

My dad has the reg A6 XAX, which he got for free on a car be bought back in the early 2000s. A few years later we were driving around locally and spotted in front of us a large Audi with the reg A8 XAX. Weird thing is, we have never seen the car again.

Almost certainly batched up and sold by the same dealer, probably within weeks of one another!

My Mini is XX17XXC came out of Tesco one night to see an almost identical one with number XX17XXB next to it ( XX for illustration)

Years ago I had a Saab P434JEV and frequently used to see P433 and P435 locally

Work cars ?

Well they bought and registered them in huge batches so there were loads with conseq number plates

My dad had the above Essex registered Superminx in the early 70s. When on holiday in North Wales we came across an identical Green Superminx Estate with a plate just a few different (can't remember the other number exactly)

In my family we have between us plates....

EDZ20
EDZ21
EDZ22
EDZ23
EDZ25
EDZ26
EDZ202
EDZ220

The one missing in sequence being 24, we bought all our plates from an Irish reg company in 96-02' the one we are missing resides in the same cheshire town as my parents.

Small world.

My last silver E220CDi was EK60KMY and I regularly saw and still see another Silver E220CDi with the reg EK60KMX.

Mine was a chauffeur car up until 2016 and the other one was and is now a Private Hire taxi based in the town about 10 miles from me.

I first saw it about 9 years ago when it passed me on the M25 when we were both on our way to Heathrow and I have seen it on a very regular basis ever since, often 3/4 times a week.

Mine has done a few more miles though.

If you had turned one round on each photo and parked them on the road side by side we would have been none the wiser smile
