The war against the car is insane, the only hope for car enthusiasts is to move to Canada/USA.

20mph roads are being rolled out... speed bumps pretty much on all roads... 60mph on many parts of the motorway...

They are killing our hobby... we are spineless and say or do nothing about it.

Why choose a 55 sign when you could have had a 25? Speed limits over here (USA) typically vary between 60-80MPH depending on the state.

Speedbumps and 20mph zones are usually rolled out in the cities and I usually use the motorway to go from A to B, while I am not happy with the 10 mph deduction, 60 mph or 70 mph does not really have any different enjoyment level. Good driving B roads have 60 mph speed limit, no 20 mph zones and no speed bumps, so I do not feel the need I need to move to the US just yet.

If you ask me we are spineless because we collectively did not make window stickers that says "Would you please move over to the left and stop hogging the middle lane please?" I do not understand you people, they are killing our hobbies! I should be the only car in the middle lane!1!!one!

What are you doing to fight this ‘war’?

As Bill posted earlier with the thread link above, we've been here before with the OP and his classic bait / troll thread on the same subject last year, although back then he was evidently telling us we should all leave the UK rolleyeslaugh

OP has form with these sort of threads as if you look back, last year OP started one about their supposedly stolen / recovered car and blaming the Police because they wouldn't let him on site to their storage site so that he could break it for parts to be sold on Facebook. Followed later by another one where a relative supposedly had their classic car stolen, but decided to cancel the insurance and not make a claim, but then the Police just happened to find the car in the meantime and crushed it without the owners permission rolleyes

I know the normal PH response to these types of thread is to think we are melodramatic, but I think he has a point. Look at this road that I frequently travel :

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.8539096,-1.65398...

It's wide, has fantastic visibility, small number of junctions and has been dropped to a 50mph limit. An lo and behold, with accompanying mobile speed camera vans to go with the drop. I don't see how these changes can be viewed as anything other than a war on the motorist, and I really do wish we didn't roll over and take it.

100% agreed. Problem is, many, many people are in agreement with the lower limits and continual slide towards ever more regulation in every facet of their lives. They love it. You can hear them say things like “shouldn’t be allowed” and “should be a law against that sort of thing” and “it’s ridiculous” - be careful what you wish for. Regulators are there to regulate. They love thinking up regulations because that’s their job…..

As much as I love cars, I think all cities should be no cars and only commercial vehicles.

Then flood the streets with those e-scooters which are absolutely amazing and to be honest can travel so god damn fast.

But I have noticed myself taken less notice of cars such as Ferraris and Porsches because when I own them I end up just sitting at 50mph like everyone else anyway. The lane discipline in the UK also sickens me.

So now, my most used car will never ever be anything adventurous or even expensive and I'm putting all of my money in to track cars and a low powered Sunday car.

The perfect car for fun now is a Lotus Elise S1 with 120bhp and find some single track roads.

Speed bumps on pretty much all roads? What? I travel 30 miles a day to work and I don't see a single speed bump.
