As above, what cars that everyone drools over can’t you stand?

-or-

What cars that everyone hates have you scanning the classifieds?

Hate:

Defenders.

I get the 4x4 thing, I do, and have owned Range Rovers.
Series 1-3 Land Rovers are ok because they couldn’t do any better but why in the name of all that is holy do people spend proper money on uncomfortable unreliable and poorly built meccano sets.

I don’t even like the way they look.

Sorry.

I'll cut off my own balls with a razor blade before I ever drive a Suzuki Swift Sport.

Love:

The square headlight XJ40.
I actually prefer it to the round headlight XJ40 and would even go so far as to say ‘my favourite XJ’.

Heresy. Not sorry.

VW vans. Have no time for the things at all. Can shove as much Zebrano and as many expensive hampers in it as you like, still a pig of a thing.

The Evoque always manages to register 11 on the cringeworthy chart.

The Evoque convertible obviously takes the cringeworthiness even higher.

Zagato.

Whilst there have been some stunners, many are horrible creations and far worse looking than the original cars on which they are based.

I think Honda's Type-R 4-pot engines are gutless, sound rubbish, and are hugely underwhelming to drive, and can't understand why people love Civics, Integras, S2000s etc let alone the madness of dropping the things into Elises, Minis or anything else that has the misfortune to be left parked near a tuning shop for too long. Waffle about throttle response and 8000 rpm all you like, I'm not listening. I've driven some, and I think they're crap.

I hate just about anything that’s come out of Italy in the last 20 years apart from the 458. Modern Italian styling is far too fussy.

My tastes are rather narrow and I’m certainly in the German school when it comes to industrial design. Stuttgart seem to understand the philosophy of form following function far better than anyone from Modena.

Others on my st list include:

Range Rovers of any flavour and most other SUV’s
Anything from Munich.
Bentleys of any variety.

It's hard to believe anyone actually survived the period before airbags and anti-lock brakes!!

And my Hyundai Getz is a far better drive than say a Muira as well as being greener for the environment.

I went past a Renault garage near York today and they had one of those Offender sh*tboxes for sale.

£42,000.

You'd need your head feeling.
