Make for interesting reading.

Top 10 is 4 x Hyundai/Kia, 1 each of Honda, Mazda, Seat, Skoda, Tesla, Toyota.

You have to go down as far as 30th to find a German branded car.

Search for carbuyer JD power to find the full article.

You mean small cheap cars that do little mileage bought by pensioners that have the time to fill out online surveys ?

Never understood how VW and Audi can do badly when Seat and Skoda do so well. They're all the same bloody cars underneath!

biglaugh

Has anyone here actually contributed to one of these surveys? I struggle to believe they’re truly representative.

Absolutely this.

Also - I think cost of repair gets factored into the numbers and unsurprisingly the basic Asian stuff is completely incomparable to the complexity of the high end European stuff.

Those surveys are for people who value their car in the same way as their dishwasher.

it is because VW and Audi tend to have higher spec level thus more stuff to go wrong?

Also expectations of the owners may be different.A 50k Audi owner may be more inclined to complain than someone that has spend 20k on a Skoda

This was a £30k+ Skoda.
I am not surprised by the listings.

Except that Aygo, Jazz, Picanto all do less well than the same manufacturer's larger, dearer, more complicated cars.

At least Mercedes conform to your theory. Perhaps the A Class is their best rated car because it uses Renault bits.

Which Teslas are small and cheap.
German cars coming way down isn't exactly surprising.
