I keep a good space from the car in front. It a oids a lot of accelerating and braking. If someone pulls out of a junction into the space, well good for them, they're obviously in a hurry/ on the ball/ in a quick car.
If anyone cuts me up or pulls out in front of me, I don't take it personally. We all make mistakes.
Mitigating other drivers mistakes is what makes a good driver.

Most sensible post on PH for a while....................If anyone cuts me up or pulls out in front of me, I don't take it personally. We all make mistakes.

I don't care if I've been sitting in a long queue of cars exiting a motorway and someone bypasses the entire slip lane and dives in front of me at the last minute. I just don't mind. I know I should be red with rage and close up until I'm inches off the car in front's bumper as we move along to prevent last minute ingress.
I have my own set of defined rules for choosing when to let people out of junctions, side roads etc.
ie if I am approaching a red light and there is traffic behind me and someone is waiting to be let out, I will always let them out. If there is no traffic behind me or the light is on green I generally won't.
if a car is trying to cross traffic and there is a build up of cars behind it and there are cars behind me I will slow to allow them to cross, if there are no cars behind me or the car trying to cross I won't.
I've got quite a few more but the general concept is be nice to other drives and karma will come back around when I need it too.

Although I love driving and consider myself to be a petrol/pistonhead, my back catalogue of cars is 4 cars in 13 years. All FWD. I don't really have a hankering for anything RWD other than perhaps an M2, or a newer Mustang. Neither of which I care about the fact they're RWD. I'd rather own a Mondeo than a 5 series.
What's the fuss all about?

I get annoyed when another road user steals the karma I was going to get. For instance, two cars need to be helped out of a junction, the driver in front lets both out... It makes no difference to where I am in the queue but that b
Also I think most cyclists and lorry drivers are courteous and are just as valid on the road as cars, and very few have ever caused me concern or consternation. That seems to be an opinion you need to keep to yourself
