I recently purchased a classic car (1969) in Italy and was originally going to have a transportation company take care of the delivery for me, but as they've been almost completely unresponsive, I'm tempted to go and collect it myself.

- I have a recovery truck
- I have 3 days spare

Can I just go and collect it?
Am I going to get stopped at customs for anything or can I deal with the paperwork and tax when I get it home and go to register it?

Thanks guys.

A good friend of mine has a place in the South of France, but lives predominantly in the UK. He is for ever bringing cars backwards and forwards in a covered trailer and never has to show any paperwork, so I suspect you are good to go.
