There'll be a hard reset method for it, probably by holding down power button for 30 seconds or something. That's the first thing I'd try.

We had to replace a few units due to them just faulting from age. Cannot remember it being a terribly common issue. There are repair services that managed to sort some for us, but it's been many years since I sold those cars and I honestly can't remember who we used. I know we sent them off! There are a few people on eBay who appear to claim to repair them, shoot them a message?
