Hey guys.

About 4 months ago I turned my car on and what I can describe as the glow plug light turned on and then followed by the engine management light on..
After driving a bit and turning off the car. The glowplug light went out and I got a diagnostic on the fault. Happened to be a throttle valve issue.
It never popped up again till last night..

It's weird because I knocked the Interior light before starting engine accidently. Then turned the car on and the warning light in middle came on aswell as the engine light.
Drove for a bit.. then stopped.. turned off car and fiddled with the interior light. Turned car on again and the middle light went out but engine light stayed on.

Is this a coincidence as the exact same lights came on. The car did go into limp mode, till the glow plug (electronic) light went off and after restart.

Runs fine now but engine light is still on?
I'm so confused. Any ideas?

Hmm, if they use the same cluster for petrol and diesel, I suppose the glow plug light would still be in there, just not connected, and I have often seen bad earths and the like cause things like dash warning lights to illuminate incorrectly.

But that still seems like a stretch.

Exactly what year and model is it, and do you have a picture of the light(s)?

If the check engine light is on, my first stop would be a cheap OBD2 code reader to find out what the car thinks is wrong.

It's definitely a petrol car and I've looked the symbol up and it's a glow plug.. just lost to why it keeps going on and then going off again when certain things are done in the car

It’s a coil. One of your ignition coils has gone or is going. Always manifests initially when an engine is started and stopped after a short time as the engine cold start enrichment makes it harder for the ignition system to ignite and fully burn the mixture.

Incidentally ignition coils are probably the most common issue associated with petrol Clios of this vintage.

Thank you, so it wouldn't be a dodgy connection between the Interior light and dash then?

Also,

At first the car was driving badly for a while, then I turned off and on and again and the coil light went off and it started feeling normal again?

It could also possibly be one of the glow plugs that preheat the coolant to get the engine up to temperature quicker. There's usually 3 or 4 together fitted into a coolant pipe at the rear of the engine.

Last time The same lights came on when a fault popped up about my throttle valve. Would that be connected at all in anyway to those lights

Possibly. Get the codes read and interpreted
