Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato teased further

Not long to wait for the off-road Huracan - here's the best look yet

It’s usually easy to gauge how exciting a new supercar is by how much is written about it. If the manufacturer sees fit to publish reams and reams of information prior to reveal, chances are there’s not quite the predicted level of excitement. Key information is being revealed to stoke that fire of interest. And on the other hand, if there’s a ton of pent-up anticipation, the car maker doesn’t have to say much - a frenzied public is doing all the PR for them.

You can probably guess how much has been said by Lamborghini about the Huracan Sterrato. It’s the final pure ICE car out of Sant’Agata, and it embodies every kid’s dream car: it’s the supercar that can also be a rally car. And what could be cooler than that? Therefore, ahead of a full reveal in a couple of weeks’ time, a short - two paragraphs short - press release has been issued, with a few more pics, to further build the hype.

Apparently, the Sterrato will be capable of ‘reinterpreting the very concept of sportiness and emphasising the brand principles of brave, authentic and unexpected.’ The 911 Dakar probably has something to say about reinterpreting that sporty concept, too. There’s also a new video been release and, yes, the prospect of a Huracan slinging mud around with V10 wailing still looks pretty awesome. As for the look, it’s hard not to be impressed, as everything you’d want to see on any expedition car are present and correct: see the roof rails (and scoop), spotlights, beautifully purposeful arch extensions and paint already the colour of grub - perfect. Only this expedition car has more than 600hp. November 30th can’t come soon enough.

If I were super rich, an EVO coupe and spider an STO and this all the cars you would ever need.

1) Evo Daily
2) Spider Sundays
3) Sto track days
4)Sterraro : ski holidays, days shooting etc (I do neither but might if I were rich)

Silly stuff just because you can?

I approve.

Probably better on our awful, potholed roads anyway!!

I don’t really understand what the purpose is?

Why do you want a Huracan with some sort of off road ability whilst detracting from the main elements of why you bought such a focused sports car???

Are we to think a new Huracan owner couldn’t also afford something more practical?

I’m also in two minds about this ‘Dakar’ 911 turbo soon to be shown. I get the race history and mods for the race cars, but why would you want or need a raised 911 turbo as your road car?

Maybe you don’t use more than 50% of the chassis capability of the regular version, so why not buy one that can drive comfortably on rough surfaces?

It is purely there for Lambo to make some profit. There will be better supercars and better fast off-road cars. You'd be better off with a standard Huracan and an Ariel Nomad, though I guess it appeals to some. I suppose it does look pretty good in a crazy school kid designed it kinda way.

Think of it like an Ariel Nomad with windows.

In the way a real Lamborghini can "theoretically" be a track weapon, but won't, this will "theoretically" work on a rally stage, but won't.

It will look cool parked outside Harrods and various nightclubs, though.

Why do you think it wouldn`t work on a rally stage?

He didn't say that. He said it would work, but won't. As in it is very unlikely anyone will take it off road, in the same way most other Lambos won't go anywhere near a track.

It’s got a slight Lancia Stratos vibe I think. A good thing.

I don't need a GR Yaris any more, I need one of these, a car that I can use to drive anywhere without difficulty, I wonder if I can spec a quiet exhaust. 🤔
