Many cars are failing MOT due to rust, if global warming turns the worls into an inferno there will be less moisture in the air and less to worry about come mot time.

Global warming, or global weirding as a better term, will likely cause more extreme weather. Less predictable weather patterns and so more flooding.

More humidity, I suspect. The whole world will be like a sauna and the most rust-resistant of cars will suddenly have all the longevity of a Lancia dumped on the slipway of a Cornish fishing village.

Sea level rise = a shorter drive down to the seaside.

And ironically, here in the UK it may result in it getting cooler (which suits me) if the trans-haline conveyor (the gulfstream) stalls.

Your car will be wetter in future, from rain, humidity, and flooding. I'd forget MOT's and think about moving to higher ground.

They only fail on rust when pushing towards 20 years, I would suggest.

It’s not global warming, it’s climate change, so there will still be salt-laden winters.

certainly less salt on the roads if it doesnt get below freezing very much any more. less rinsing salt off the car after a drive in winter.

doesnt help cars that live by the sea though, seawater still salty.

potentially with rising sea levels more of us will be living by the sea, that could be an issue.

More housing at risk of flooding and hurriedly being marketed as "up and coming marina developments" by bullstting estate agents!

It already happened in the summer of pandemic you cant move here in the summer .

I live in a small cottage with a nice garden and I am happy to spend the whole summer there along with a couple of trips to Greece!

Just to point out the obvious, warmer air holds more moisture not less. Therefore more rain and higher humidity.

Many moons ago when Japanese cars were new to UK, they used to rust worse ( sounds impossible )than the rubbish churned out by BL, FORD & Vauxhall. The reason was two fold, the 1st was they did not rust proof them & as you said our winter salted roads... but the No 2 surprise was when importing them across the very salty Oceans from Japan or wherever...

Doesn’t work like that OP. More likely the same rain or more for us! No benefits that I can see our summers might be better buy a convertible for a couple of months. And a boat for the floods.

About 30 years ago, the local paper down on the South Coast came up with all sorts of dire predictions stemming from global warming, including the theory that by 2020, the Isle of WIght would be under water and there would be olive and lemon groves on the South Downs.

I'd still like to know who I need to sue, as neither of these has come true.

More energy in the atmosphere means more violent localised weather - hailstorms and abrupt rainstorms.

More cars written off with hail damage. (I've beaten the rush with a Cat N Vauxhall Agila for my son that looks like it has been attacked with a ballpein hammer).

I also got 2 convertibles for the sunnier weather and a full size 4x4 on order for the floods and potholed roads.

We have a house on the top of the hill and solar panels; more sun will be most welcome.

Can't remember last time I failed a car on rust not sure where you have been for last 10 or so years.
