I love PH, and will continue to lurk on its' hallowed forum pages as I have for many years, and even dare to post occasionally. I also love EVO, these days also Redline mags; and at this point I stand and anounce "I watch Top Gear". And while I'm at it, I may as well come sliding, with an armful of 'oppo, out of the closet and stick my rear end in the rough stuff; I like Jezza ! There I've said it. Phew.
To the point. Anecdotally, I've noticed posts/replies/general traffic has been slowing here over recent years. I refuse to accept petrolheads are a dying breed. I am praying (to the Tyre-smoking gods, naturally) that there are [an]other forum[s], which have benefited from a popular migration...
Please enlighten my ignorant self, wherefore art thou, AlfaRomeos ?

I'm not aware of anywhere else with a comparable petrolhead community, in terms of forums / social media. There are make-specific forums which are better and worse depending on the car. (Side thought - wonder if you could use the number of forum posts per year as a proxy for reliability? The 350Z forums always seemed really quiet compared to the RX-7 one
)
Someone kindly set up a continuation forum for the evo forum when they rudely shuttered that, under the name OV9, but it's nothing like as highly trafficked as PH. (Evo was a shadow of PH, and OV9 is a shadow of evo, in terms of posts).
I follow a handful of car ppl on Twitter so there is a bit of chat there.
In terms of consuming car media I still sub to evo, also have taken out a sub to The Intercooler which I enjoy, quite a bit of longer-form and industry-insider type content with the odd real gem, some really top contributors, however they've fluffed the 'social' aspect so far.

Forums are sadly dying a slow death. Car communities are more segregated and on Facebook. I briefly joined one for my car, but it was all about modding and LED headlight conversions
I posted once and stuck with it, but the group was soon overran by porn bots, and some very illegal stuff was posted. So I left. There are some good accounts on Instagram though. Followed a few from here.
For me, PH still has a lot of life and is the best place for proper car chat and everything else in life. I can't see it going anywhere just yet. But there are troubles in the years ahead.

The truth is everyone on Facebook groups, Instagram and Tiktok now.
There are so many mouth breathers and knuckle draggers that I don’t bother.
I'm not on any of those either. I was tempted since I have a Triumph Toledo but there are 4 private groups on FB I found with a quick search all with similar names. My car is very similar to the commoner Dolomite, but there is The Triumph Dolomite Club, Triumph Dolomite, Triumph dolomite Group and The Official Triumph Dolomite Club Group. "Judean People's front! Splitters.... There are so many mouth breathers and knuckle draggers that I don’t bother.
). Seems a bit pointless to me.ETA: As a TVR owner, this website has been a godsend, for over 20 yrs that I've used it.

Facebook for your car is great the first weeks you have the car, then it looks like it is on repeat about the most famous mods, or people putting picture of their car cleaned or their dogs in it...

And, a bit boring to learn/read only about a few models.
I am in my 30s, and do prefer a forum when I want to read about cars (and their weird PH owners

Pretty much sums it up there. I tried on Facebook group for bmw. Jesus it was like hanging around with a bunch of mentally impaired 5 yr olds with severe anger issues. Stayed about a week and left. There are so many mouth breathers and knuckle draggers that I don’t bother.
The simply mustang uk fb group is pretty good, older clientele I suspect and the moderator won’t put up with rudeness to others. No warning given. Rude and offensive. Bye bye.
I'm in my late 40s and PH is the only social media I engage in. I do have a Facebook profile and am in a few classic BMW groups on there, but a couple of years ago I decided that Facebook was really a negative thing with a few positives which make it hard to leave. In other words, Facebook is a giant black cloud with a very thin silver lining. So I no longer use Facebook at all unless I need to find spare parts or similar. I have profiles on a couple of BMW and Porsche specific forums, but I visit those once in a blue moon - usually only when googling takes me to some information there.
By contrast, the sheer breadth of topics of discussion here, the depth of knowledge buried in the forums, the anonymity and the fact that PH never seems to evolve is a huge bonus for me. If it were full of overlays, ad panes, flashing videos and whatnot, I'd stay away for good. If there are any ads, ABP has them licked... for now. And then there's the sheer comedy value of some of the discussions which keep me coming back. "The imagine!"
I'd have to be pretty busy with work of life events to keep me away for more than a few days.

I havent been on an active forum in quite a while. But i miss chatting with like minded car people so much
1, I had some really awful years in my life so i wasnt into anything for quite a while
2. I just bought my own "toy"for the first time in nearly 10 years so i plan on being a full time petrol pervert from now on.
